With the long weekend upon us, we’re seeing a lot of activity regarding the museum passes we have for Ottawa and Brockville attractions. Just a few reminders:
- most museum passes go out for FOUR days (which includes the day you pick it up, and the day you must return it), the exception being the Brockville Aquatarium which goes out for a week
- passes go out on a first-come, first-served basis.
- You’re welcome to call us to check on availability, or go online to http://carletonplacelibrary.ca and check under the “Museum Passes” tab
- We have multiple passes for each museum, but some will be more popular than others
- If you keep a museum pass out past the due date, fines are $5 per day
These are such a popular item in the library, and understandably so. The passes allow FIVE admissions (usually two adults and up to three children), and make going to see the exhibits much more affordable. While we would love to have an unlimited number of passes for each museum, we do not. Please keep in mind that the loan policies we have put in place are to make it easier for everyone to have the opportunity to experience exhibits, not to make it impossible. We will certainly call a patron if a pass is very overdue, however, we cannot call simply because it is a day late. It is up to patrons to return items on time, and we hope that everyone will appreciate that these are in high demand, and get their passes back promptly.
The library isn’t just about books anymore!
It seems that people are still just hearing about this great program that we’re thrilled to offer to our patrons—museum passes! And they aren’t just for kids. All you need is a library card.
We have museum passes for all of the Ottawa museums, and the pass covers FIVE (5) general admissions. Some of the passes allow up to three adults, but most are for two adults, and up to three children. The passes do not cover admission for special events, but go to see a regular exhibit, and we’ve got you covered.
The passes go out for a total of four days turnaround. After that, if the pass is late, there is a fine of $1 per day. Only one pass per family, please.
If you’re thinking of things to do with the kids over the holidays, don’t forget these great passes. They’ll save you some money to spend on something special!
Can you believe, the hottest thing going out from the library in the past few weeks has been….a museum pass?!
Yes, that’s true. More specifically, the Canadian Museum of History/War Museum pass. I guess a lot of people are finding out about this great idea. Come to the library, check out one of our family museum passes, go to the museum, have fun, bring it back! We have passes for most of the museums in the Ottawa area, and they cover FIVE admissions. If you’re going to see a special exhibit, that might not be covered, but your regular, general admission for 2 adults and 3 children will be.
You need a library card and that’s it. Drop in and pick up the pass on one day, keep it for the next two full days, then return it on the fourth day. Easy! So get out there and experience museums, courtesy of the library!
