It’s National Librarian Day!

Yes, it’s that time of year again, folks! It’s National Librarian Day! If you’re at the library today, please drop in and say hello to one of the fabulous library staff. We’re always ready to celebrate!

Family Day!

Just a reminder that the library will be closed on Monday, February 17th for Family Day. Please keep all returns until Tuesday. (Don’t worry, there won’t be any fines for the two days we’re closed.)

We’re Open Today!

If Santa didn’t bring you a good book to read, don’t forget, you can drop into the library today or tomorrow and pick up something to keep you going. We’re open today from 9:30am – 5:30pm, Saturday from 10:00am – 5:00pm, and again on Monday from 1:30pm – 8:00pm and Tuesday morning from 9am – noon. Plenty of time to get a movie, a few magazines or some books.

We’re Going to be Closed

We’re gearing up for some holiday closures at the Carleton Place Public Library, which means a few changes in book returns as well.  While we’re spending time with our families and probably eating too much turkey, the library will be closed off and on. During the days we’re closed, you cannot return items to the library (please don’t leave them at the front door), but don’t worry….you won’t be charged any fines.

Monday, December 23     OPEN 1:30pm – 8:00pm

Tuesday, December 24    OPEN 9:00am – noon

Wednesday, December 25      CLOSED

Thursday, December 26       CLOSED

Friday, December 27     OPEN 9:30am – 5:30pm

Saturday, December 28    OPEN 10:00am – 5:00pm

Sunday, December 29   CLOSED

Monday, December 30    OPEN 1:30pm – 8:00pm

Tuesday, December 31  OPEN   9:00am – noon

Wednesday, January 1   CLOSED

On the days we’re open, the blue return box will be out at 9am, so you can return items when you see it. If you can’t make it in, you can renew books online using your PIN, or give us a call and leave a message. We’ll renew everything the next day we’re in.

Don’t forget to drop in before the closures to pick up books and movies to get you through the stretch. We’ll be happy to help you pick something great to take home.

Have a safe and happy holiday!

Ready, Set, Bake!

If you’re like me, you’re already stocking your freezer with Christmas baking.  While there is plenty of time to get things underway, you might not think of the library as a place to start your holiday preparations. Don’t forget, we have row upon row of fabulous cookbooks, and stacks of food magazines just waiting for you to take a peek through! Maybe you’ll find that next great family recipe to be handed down for generations, or maybe you’ll just come up with something different to serve for dinner. Either way, we have lots of choice.

We also have plenty of crafting books and much more to get started on gift giving options. Or use one of our computers or the free wi-fi to help you stay connected and organized during this busy time of year. Save a little money. Shop local, read local and drop by the library to make your life easier in so many ways.

See you soon!

It’s Almost Turkey Time!

The Thanksgiving long weekend is upon us, and we wanted to remind you of our hours this weekend.

Thanksgiving hours

Don’t worry, we don’t charge fines on the days we’re closed! And please leave all your returns until Tuesday, when the blue return box will go out at 9am.
