Just a reminder that the library will be closed on Monday, February 17th for Family Day. Please keep all returns until Tuesday. (Don’t worry, there won’t be any fines for the two days we’re closed.)
If Santa didn’t bring you a good book to read, don’t forget, you can drop into the library today or tomorrow and pick up something to keep you going. We’re open today from 9:30am – 5:30pm, Saturday from 10:00am – 5:00pm, and again on Monday from 1:30pm – 8:00pm and Tuesday morning from 9am – noon. Plenty of time to get a movie, a few magazines or some books.
We’re gearing up for some holiday closures at the Carleton Place Public Library, which means a few changes in book returns as well. While we’re spending time with our families and probably eating too much turkey, the library will be closed off and on. During the days we’re closed, you cannot return items to the library (please don’t leave them at the front door), but don’t worry….you won’t be charged any fines.

Don’t forget to drop in before the closures to pick up books and movies to get you through the stretch. We’ll be happy to help you pick something great to take home.
Have a safe and happy holiday!
If you’re like me, you’re already stocking your freezer with Christmas baking. While there is plenty of time to get things underway, you might not think of the library as a place to start your holiday preparations. Don’t forget, we have row upon row of fabulous cookbooks, and stacks of food magazines just waiting for you to take a peek through! Maybe you’ll find that next great family recipe to be handed down for generations, or maybe you’ll just come up with something different to serve for dinner. Either way, we have lots of choice.
We also have plenty of crafting books and much more to get started on gift giving options. Or use one of our computers or the free wi-fi to help you stay connected and organized during this busy time of year. Save a little money. Shop local, read local and drop by the library to make your life easier in so many ways.
See you soon!
