This weekend, the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum is holding a “Picnic Like it’s 1916” event on the grounds of the museum. It’s going to be a fun afternoon, if past events have been any indication. Bring your own picnic lunch and a blanket, and hang out for the afternoon. Treats will be available, as well as live music. And guess what? Our wonderful summer student Gracey will be there to read some stories to the little ones!
Plan on dressing in 1916 garb, or try on some of the costumes the museum will have available. You can find out much more about this event by visiting the museum’s website, or by taking in the Facebook page devoted to this festival. It’s always fun to have a family event that doesn’t cost much, and might educate as well as entertain.
