Last March Break, we had a fun event for teens called “Book in a Jar”. You can read all about how we ran the fun program right here. While we’re not doing that this week, we have our ongoing “Book Jars” at the front desk to help you find a new and interesting read.
We thought this would be a fun way to help people who are looking for something new to read. Just choose a jar based on what you read, pick out a piece of paper, and then go find the book! (If you take the book, please don’t put the piece of paper back in the jar….someone will be looking hard for a book that isn’t on the shelf.)
We chose books that were getting a lot of attention, books that other people recommended, and books we loved ourselves. So, you can’t really go wrong, right?
Where are the Book Jars?
When you walk in the front doors, the jars are straight ahead on the front desk. You really can’t miss them.
What if I pick a book I don’t like?
Feel free to go to the shelves and take a look at the book. If you don’t like it, try another book from the jar. (Yes, this time, you can put the paper back.) While many people have told us they weren’t sure about the book they picked, quite a few have come away enjoying them. Hopefully, it’ll be the same for you!
Are these only available during the March Break?
No! Drop in anytime, and they’ll be available. This is an ongoing program (for adults and teens), so take advantage of it whenever you feel the need. It’s a fun way to find a new author.
Can I suggest a book for the jar?
Sure! Mention something to us at the front desk, and we’ll see that the suggestion is put into play when we get a chance.
Happy reading, everyone!
