It’s now been a year since we first offered Camp NaNoWriMo at the Carleton Place Public Library. While it was a great success then, we’re so excited about all of the fun things happening this year!
If you’re not familiar with this project, Camp NaNoWriMo is the baby brother of National Novel Writing Month, which takes place in November. The Camp version is a little less rigid, but the overall idea is for people to write a book in one month. This year, we have 15 people participating, and boy, are they writing!
Through weekly meetings, and daily emails, we’re keeping in touch with our writers to make sure their progress is smooth, and that they have support. It’s been a lot of fun seeing their progress reports each day. Just about everyone is meeting their goals…whether it is to write every day, revise a project, or to blast through this mid-way through the month and reach the 50,000 word goal. We’re so proud of all the stories, and all the writers.
