You’d probably have a hard time finding someone who doesn’t know the line, “My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” (Although that said, this phrase emblazoned on a t-shirt caused quite the uproar when a passenger wore it on a flight a few years back. Maybe not such a good idea when traveling.)
But the popularity of the cult classic, THE PRINCESS BRIDE, has only grown since the film was released in 1987. In fact, it was ranked by the American Film Institute as one of top 100 Greatest Love Stories, and by the Writer’s Guild of America as one of the top 100 screenplays of all time. This movie still goes out of the library on a weekly basis, and the book by William Goldman is also popular. And now, one of the film’s most popular actors, Cary Elwes, is releasing a new book called, AS YOU WISH: INCONCEIVABLE TALES from the MAKING OF THE PRINCESS BRIDE.
It promises lots of behind the scenes stories, photos we’ve never seen, and interviews with cast members and crew. If you’re starting to think about gift giving for the upcoming holiday season, this might be a great choice for the fan on your list! The book comes out in stores Oct. 16th, and we have it on order for the library. You can place a hold on it now and we’ll call you when it’s your turn to pick it up.
To the pain!
