Become a Rap Star!

With Camp NaNoWriMo beginning this week, there are a lot of ideas swirling around about how to write a book, or where to get ideas. So when I came across a fun article on the Mental Floss site called “18 Famous Literary First Lines Perfectly Paired with Rap Lyrics”, I was curious.

Okay, if you read the literary-rap article, you’ll realize they were stretching the idea at best, but the website they used to generate the rap lyrics is pretty great. It’s called Rap Pad and it’ll do tons of great things if you’re wanting to give writing a rap song a try.  It will generate beats, help with rhyming, give you lists of words according to syllables, and help you become part of a great creative community. It’s a beautiful interface that’s actually a lot of fun. It might keep the kids occupied for a few hours, if you’re looking for something to do on a rainy day. And who knows? Maybe it will inspire a new generation of poets/rappers/writers.
