I’m a visual person. To learn something new, it’s best if you show me how to do it. With the use of YouTube and other great video applications available online, you can “see” how to do just about anything. But what if there just isn’t anything out there to teach you how to say, recognize various pork cuts or evade a panther attack? I came across this great book today in the library called Show Me How : 500 Things you should know: Instructions for Life from the Everyday to the Exotic by Derek Fagerstrom, Lauren Smith etc.
The book is filled with illustrations that show you how to do just about everything, and if you don’t find it in there, they have a second book and a website! The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow and make each entry look, well, easy. Even I think I could prepare Tibetan yak-butter tea now! (Really, that’s in there!)
Maybe you won’t learn how to perform open heart surgery….the instructions are for “everyday” things that require no special knowledge or training, but you’ll walk away having learned something, that’s guaranteed! Stop by the website or download the app and find out something new! Or drop in and pick up the book. You’ll be glad you did!
