Storytime

What?

Storytime is a fun morning of stories, music, fingerplays, games and crafts. We use Toronto Public Library’s “READY FOR READING” program, adapted from the American Library Association’s EVERY CHILD READY TO READ concept. There are five literacy ideas we’ll touch on, including singing, reading, writing, playing and talking. But don’t worry, we have a lot of fun, too!

Where?

At the Carleton Place Public Library.

When?

Every Wednesday morning, from 10 – 11am. Registration is required as SPACES ARE LIMITED, so call ahead to save your place. We have a smallish room, so we must be strict about limiting numbers, and we don’t want to have to turn anyone away. Register each week so you’re not disappointed.

Who?

Children aged 2 – 5. Yes, we’re quite strict about the age. Unless your child is turning two within the month, we cannot take children younger than 2 years old, as the program is so popular and we need to reserve spaces for those who are the correct age. Looking for a program for your baby? Check out our Babytime sessionĀ  on this blog.

Call us at 257-2702 for more information or to register. Our next storytime session begins Wednesday, September 11, 2013.
