We’ve had a lot of interesting reaction to our Christmas in July events at the library this week! Our front desk is decorated with tinsel and a summer Santa on the beach and our program room is also very festive with a tree and lights. The kids have been so enthusiastic about all of the fun things Kelsey has been planning, including funky stockings and wacky ornaments! It is the adults that have been the most interesting to watch though.
It seems that the whole Christmas idea is throwing the adults somewhat. Judi mentioned on Saturday that a gentleman came in, looked at the desk and was obviously confused. She quickly said “Merry Christmas!”, to which he replied, without skipping a beat….”Merry Christmas to you, too!”, and then realized the joke. With our busy lives, are people thinking they’ve forgotten to start their shopping?
